Vulcan RCMP attended a property in rural Vulcan County in response to a complaint of a stolen vehicle on April 7.

The RCMP Auto Theft Unit and Vulcan RCMP, alongside Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU), were able to execute a search warrant at the property in rural Vulcan County, and located 12 stolen pickup trucks, a stolen travel trailer, two stolen utility trailers and two stolen dirt bikes.

A man fled the property in a stolen GMC Sierra upon the arrival of law enforcement and was arrested shortly thereafter, with one officer sustaining a minor injury during the arrest.

Evidence has suggested the site was being used as a chop shop.

Okotoks resident, 30-year-old William McIntosh, has been charged with flight from police, assault on a police officer causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, failure to comply with release conditions, possession of property obtained by crime, both over $5,000 and under $5,000, and two instances of possession of a controlled substance for crystal meth and fentanyl.
