As circumstances have slowly improved, the Redcliff Legion has been working hard to increase the number of events it is able to host, including the Easter Family Dance this Sunday.
The dance is part of a series of free family dances the Legion has been hosting at the end of each month since October, said president Barry Cole.
“It’s really just to give back to the community,” said Cole. “It’s a free dance, we serve pop and hotdogs and juice boxes for the very little ones. Since it’s Easter Sunday, we’ve got some Easter eggs and some prizes to give out for the best dressed.”
The dances are done in conjunction with White Dragon Karate, which in exchange for volunteer help, receives a donation from the legion toward its summer camp each year.
The dance will run from 2-4 p.m. with free entry. The Legion extended thanks to the volunteer hours that make events like this possible, including White Dragon
Karate and DJ Joey Miller of Black Light DJ Services, who has been lending his talents for every family dance.
