Pheasants Forever anticipating near-full house at banquet

While the rainforest is the poster child for environmental conservation, it takes heart to love the prairies, and those with that heart will gather Friday for the Pheasants Forever annual banquet. It’s an opportunity for those with a passion for not just the game birds that form the Pheasants Forever Mascot, but prairie habitat for all wildlife, to catch up on the work of the organization, as well as take part in various auctions and fundraisers that help pay for said work, including land acquisition and restoration. “So the banquet is a fundraising event where hopefully around 300 people or so gather for a really nice dinner that’s put on by Shooting Star Events at the Stampede grounds,” said Chinook chapter president Curtis Ensminger. “We have some entertainment, and then the live auction and silent auctions and raffles. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the habitat enhancement that we talked about, as well as education and public awareness campaigns.” Tickets are nearly completely sold out at this time, which is exciting to see for Pheasants Forever members, who look forward to a full house. The banquet will take place at the Cypress Centre, with doors opening at 6p.m. 6-5
