@MedicineHatNews A planned month-long boil water advisory is underway in Leader, Sask., as the town replaces a portion of its filtration system. The work was set to begin Tuesday and could take three weeks to complete, according to a notice to residents. A schedule of water sampling afterwards will provide results in another four to five days. Officials state the advisory – to boil water before ingesting, cooking, brushing teeth or using to wash food – is precautionary. In early December the town declared a temporary state of emergency related to South Saskatchewan River levels falling to near the level of its intake system. That situation reportedly lessened as river levels rose during the month. 6
