A committee meeting set for today and a potential update of the city’s energy business review has been postponed. The News previously reported that administrators planned to provide a brief public update on the review, called for last fall as the city adjusted utility rates. Senior officials tell the News that the Feb. 16 meeting of council’s energy, land and environment committee was scratched as several committee members cannot attend and therefore quorum to conduct business could not be reached. The committee sits on the first and third Thursday’s of the month. The scope of the review will include an examination of profitability and the use of dividends from the city’s electric generation station. The city issued a “request for proposals” to solicit potential bids from third-party consulting firms on Nov. 10 and closed bidding Dec. 21. Senior staff had stated that a short-list of proposals would be evaluated after that point. 8
