@MedicineHatNews The 2023 Alberta 55-plus Summer Games in Brooks showed a $62,000 profit, that city’s council heard last week. The 15-sport games held last August saw athletes arrive from around Alberta and paid $72,000 in registration fees. That brought total revenue to $238,000 that included a $70,000 grant from the City of Brooks and County of Newell. Expenses totalled $176,000, leaving a surplus that will be used to build a shelter along the Kinbrook Connections Trail and as a seed fund for future games bids by the organizing and bid committee.
