Fire crews form Station No. 3 were quick to extinguish a fire at a storage compound near the airport Tuesday night.
Crews responded to a call that a fire had broke out in a rental storage compound along 18th Avenue SW shortly before 9:30 p.m.
The fire damaged a steel shipping container used for transportation and storage called a “Sea Can” that is available for rent. “The contents of the one unit are obviously heavily fire damaged, but the neighbouring unit suffered some heat and paint damage,” says Carter Gramlich, fire investigator.
The fire is now under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit and a fire investigator.
At the time of press police told the News they have nothing further to add other than the matter remains under investigation.
