Mounties in B.C. are looking for a man who was supposed to arrive in Medicine Hat earlier this month but hasn’t been seen since a New Year’s Eve party in Dawson Creek.

Cole Hosack, 29, is described as a white male, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

He was expected to leave the town in northern British Columbia on Jan. 5 for a job in the Hat, but didn’t arrive. He was last seen at a bar shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve.

RCMP has asked residents there to check out buildings for any sign of the man who was wearing green pants and shirt as well as a black Boston Red Sox cap when last seen. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the RCMP or local police.

Break-in at Duchess

Brooks RCMP are looking for two men and a woman after an early morning break-in at a store in Duchess on Wednesday.

Authorities say a large quantity of tobacco, vape products and lottery tickets were taken at about 5:45 a.m. after culprits entered the Duchess Station through a broken window.

Police are examining security camera footage and are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle used and the suspects.

Truck fire

A tanker truck that was fully engulfed in flames on Tuesday afternoon near Highway 36 and Township Road 184, north of Brooks, was empty at the time and not containing hazardous materials, RCMP report.

The fire, at 2 p.m. that day, was due to a mechanical issue with the brakes of the vehicle. No one was injured.
