Community Foundation hosts grant writing workshop for local non-profits

Prior to the launch of its spring 2024 community grants, the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta is hosting a virtual workshop for all registered charities, qualified donees and non-profits to learn about the updated grant guidelines.

The Community Foundation has four rural community funds including Cypress County, Brooks and district, Forty Mile and the Prairie Crocus that includes the MD of Acadia.

Local advisory committees and board of directors familiar with the area and aware of the needs within the community will review all grant applications in each region.

Community grants aim to strengthen the charitable sector in the region, and grants are awarded to to initiatives that solve the communities’ most crucial needs.

The Community Foundation hosts a vital event every year to help determine need as priorities can change from year to year. The foundation’s current priorities include:

– Health, housing and food security

– Connection and belonging

– Work and economy

– Basic Needs

Applications are filtered through a two-step process with details that can be found on the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta’s website.

The one-hour workshop runs Feb. 6 starting at noon.

The deadline for the spring grant cycle is March 15 at 4:30 p.m.
