Medicine Hat’s New Year’s baby was born only 13 minutes into 2024
Drew and Tekayah Schneider welcomed their son Bo Levi at 12:13 a.m. Monday morning.
The healthy baby boy is the couple’s first child and weighs eight pounds, one ounce.
“Honestly, it’s an amazing feeling. And it’s pretty surreal right now,” Drew told the News.
Tekayah was admitted to hospital Sunday and underwent labour for more than 24 hours. She endured quite a lot of pain while giving birth.
Doctors performed a C section after discovering Bo Levi’s umbilical cord was wrapped around his right arm in the womb.
Drew says Tekayah is still recovering from her labour.
“She’s hurting quite a bit. That’s the first major surgery kind of thing. She’s been awesome through this whole thing, I don’t know anybody who could have did a better job,” says Drew.
Drew says Bo Levi is named after Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette and a family relative whose name is Levi.
