The next Medicine Hat and District Horticultural Society annual general meeting will be held Nov. 13 at 6:15 p.m. in the theatre of Medicine Hat Public Library. The library will open for regular hours until 5 p.m. and then reopen at 6 p.m. specifically for this event.
Horticulture expert Lyndon Penner will be speaking to those gathered following the AGM and will begin his talk at 7 p.m. In a News article Oct. 24 titled Expert speaker to attend Horticultural Society meeting, the times listed are no longer correct. The Horticultural Society only has use of the library from 6-9 p.m. that evening and has shifted meeting times to make use of the venue.
Mel Deydey, the society’s newsletter editor, communications and media contact, says Penner is “very entertaining, engaging, knowledgeable – an excellent speaker – very easy to listen to.” As Penner hasn’t been to Medicine Hat since before the pandemic, many people are excited about him returning, Deydey says.
Everybody is welcome to attend the AGM and Penner’s presentation, and Deydey wants the public to know this event is not only for members.
