The 31st annual Family Science Olympics will be held this coming weekend. The event is held by the Praxis Science Outreach Society and is a free annual event for all families. Those taking part will learn about the wonders of science and how it is part of our daily lives.
Through holding these annual events, Praxis hopes to dispel myths and stereotypes about scientists along with showcasing how interesting science and technology are. They also hope participants have a fun experience and this will entice them toward courses and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Praxis Science Outreach Society is southeastern Alberta’s vital link to the scientific and educational community. The society offers free services to school districts, schools, students, clubs and community groups in southeast Alberta.
The Family Science Olympics will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Medicine Hat College.
