The Medicine Hat Rock and Lapidary Club is holding an open house Sunday where members will be available to identify specimens brought in by the public. Harness picks, a diamond tester and microscope will be available to aid in identification, and members will be happy to demonstrate how the lapidary equipment is used, although appraisals will not be provided.
The club is a non-profit society and president Karen-Anne Cherwonogrodzky encourages anyone interested to come to the event to see if membership is right for them. Membership forms will be available and the yearly cost is $20 for adults, or $25 for a family.
The open house and identifying event runs 2-4 p.m. at the Gas City Kiwanis Centre, located at 826 11th St. SE.
