The 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron will conduct live parachute drops in the vicinity of the Medicine Hat airport today.
The Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130H Hercules aircraft will be used for the parachute training, which will occur about 11 a.m. this morning. Equipment drops by search and rescue technicians will also be taking place.
This will coincide with the HALO Emergency Services School Day, an event for invited schools only. General public who wish to view the parachute drops are asked to do so from viewing areas around the airport. They are requested not to park on roads and obey all traffic signs and regulations.
Royal Canadian Air Force flights are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.
