75-year-old Hatter killed in Sask. highway collision

A Medicine Hat man has died in eastern Saskatchewan after the SUV he was driving collided with a semi-truck about halfway between Saskatoon and Rosetown.

The crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. on Monday, sending the lone passenger in the vehicle to hospital with serious injuries.

The unnamed driver, described by Saskatchewan RCMP as a 75-year-old man from Medicine Hat, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the transport truck suffered minor injuries.

RCMP were still investigating the cause of the crash on Wednesday with the aid of a accident reconstruction team.
