https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews A former city jail guard who was fired and charged with accessing prisoner files has been arrested in Swift Current while inside a stolen truck. Teegan Austin, 21, was taken into custody this week by RCMP officers in the Saskatchewan city along with two other Medicine Hat men, Ricky Vidnes, 27, and Nicolas Langille, 29. All three are charged with possessing a prohibited can of bear spray after police stopped the vehicle following a pursuit on the Trans-Canada, according to media reports from Swift Current. Austin faces further charges of possession of stolen Vehilce and stolen utility travel, both valued above $5,000. Vidnes faces similar charges. Langille’s charges also include wearing a disguise to commit and offence, possession of break-in tools and mischief. The first court appearance is set for Friday. In July, the Medicine Hat Police Service announced that Crown prosecutors had charged Austin, a former commissionaire who worked at police headquarter cells, after an audit found he had conducted searches of the records system for no valid work reason. 9
