Swift Oilfield Supply will convert a shop on Industrial Drive in Redcliff, according to recently approved permits presented to the town’s municipal planning commission. The company is centred in Edmonton with 14 other locations, mostly in northern Alberta, as well as Calgary, Fort St. John, B.C., Estevan, Sask., and one in Taber. Saskatchewan sets power record SaskPower reports that its system met a summer record for power demand on July 31 at 3,669 megawatts of electricity, about 72 more than the previous peak. That occurred as heatwaves across the prairies drove up power use. The province’s all-time peak usage is 3,910 megawatts, recorded Dec. 30, 2021. The peak demand in Alberta is 12,193 megawatts, set in December 2022, according to the Alberta Electrical System Operator. 10
