Bat Sabbath – the alter egos of six-time JUNO-nominated Canadian hardcore punk band Cancer Bats – will be flying through Medicine Hat for a stop at the Mainliner Pub on Sept. 6. The announcement of the tour date comes alongside news that the Black Sabbath tribute band’s new EP, Masters of Duality, will release on Aug. 18. “The five-track offering features all three Bats, Liam Cormier, Mike Peters and Jaye Schwarzer (on both bass and guitar) paying homage to the metal pioneers, Black Sabbath,” reads a Friday press release. “Slamming through some of their favourite Sabbath classics, the EP/video features covers of ‘Children of The Grave’, ‘Iron Man’, ‘Into the Void’, ‘N.I.B’ and the iconic Black Sabbath track ‘War Pigs.'” Touring alongside Bat Sabbath will be Edmonton-based rock bank Black Mastiff. Tickets for the show, as well as more information on the EP and 15-date launch tour, can be found at cancerbats.com/live. 6
