MHC announces Dr. Morgan Blair as new dean for School of Business and Continuing Studies

Dr. Morgan Blair has been serving at interim dean to Medicine Hat College’s School of Business and Continuing Studies since this past February and is now moving into the role permanently.

Having worked at MHC for the past 14 years, Blair says she enjoys working in complex, challenging environments. She found the interim dean role rewarding and believes she can have a positive impact in her new role.

“The School of Business and Continuing Studies has a tremendous opportunity to enhance regional vibrancy in partnership with industry by transforming learners into business leaders who will help develop creative, impactful solutions to the real-life issues facing our region,” stated Blair. “Our school has a rich array of programs, ever-increasing flexibility for learners, as well as faculty and staff that truly care about supporting students to achieve their goals. I’m looking forward to what we will learn and develop together as we explore possibilities and deepen our school’s connection to regional industries.”

Vice-president academic and provost, Dr. Nancy Brown, says she is excited to welcome Blair into her new role and pleased the search to fill the position of dean circled back to the existing talent pool at MHC.

“Her professional capacity, coupled with institutional knowledge will provide significant support to the School of Business and Continuing Studies and we look forward to the leadership she will continue to bring in this permanent role,” said Brown.

Blair started at MHC in 2010 as manager of institutional research and was later the director of strategic research and analysis. She has a doctorate in higher education leadership, a master’s in community health sciences and a bachelor’s in psychology.
