Be Youth Centre confirms it will offer summer programming

By Medicine Hat News on June 9, 2023.

Be Youth Centre co-executive directors Madison Thurrott and Brittanie Bruder confirmed in a joint statement Wednesday the centre will be offering summer programming this year, thanks to newly-secured funding.

Received earlier this month, the funding is already confirmed to be going toward primary programming, like the centre’s meal program an after-school drop-in program, as well as development of a long-term sustainability plan.

In their recent statement, Thurrott and Bruder say they are still seeking additional funding to ensure operations can continue. They are also working to build the centre’s board.

Thurrott and Bruder confirmed the centre will remain at its current location on Kingsway Avenue for the foreseeable future.
