If you’ve got eyes like a hawk, then consider assisting with Medicine Hat’s 39th annual Spring Bird Count, taking place May 28.
Each spring, Hatters turn their eyes to the skies in an attempt to spot, identify and record the numbers and species of birds within the city, so to gain better insights on local and provincial bird populations.
During the 2022 Spring Bird Count, roughly 129 resident and migratory bird species were counted in and around Medicine Hat.
Individuals interested in participating are asked to connect with Ian Langill, assistant chief interpreter at the Police Point Park Nature Centre. Langill can be reached by calling 403-529-6225.
