https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews With the temperature rising, some city spray parks will open by the end of the week, though others and the city’s outdoor swimming pools will remain closed until later this month or early June. Medicine Hat was forecast to hit a high of 31C on Tuesday before milder temperatures to end the week. Crews from the parks and recreation department are working this week to ready the spray decks at Kiwanis Central Park and Strathcona Island Park for a planned opening day of Friday. Ross Glen water park and Saamis Rotary Park should open May 26. Operations run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on a timed, button-start basis. Current work involves inspections and repairs after the winter season, as well as heavily cleaning. In the same release, the department notes Hill and Strathcona outdoor pools will open June 5. 8
