Medicine Hat NewsTwo candidate forum dates in Medicine Hat have been set for next week ahead of the May 29 general election.
The Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce will host candidates in the Brooks-Medicine Hat riding on Wednesday, May 17 from 7-9 p.m. at a location that was still being determined on Tuesday.
Candidates for the Cypress-Medicine Hat riding will appear the next night on May 18 in a similar question-and-answer format.
That same evening, party leaders Danielle Smith, the UCP candidate in Brooks-Medicine Hat, and the NDP’s Rachel Notley are set to take part in a televised leaders debate in Edmonton.
Each local event will begin with a candidate meet and greet starting at 6 p.m.
Health forum tonight
The Palliser branch of Friends of Medicare has invited candidates for both local ridings to outline their parties’ health platforms at an event this evening at Medicine Hat Public Library.
The free event starts at 7 p.m. and will be moderated by former city councillor Bill Cocks.
