Brooks city councillors received the information at an April 25 meeting from economic development officials, according to newly released minutes, and the issue will return for discussion at meetings today. Adding 300 bedroom units in the city of about 14,600 residents is the goal of developers who are first focusing on filling an existing mobile home park, but are also studying multi-plex and, potentially, apartment projects. The request to council is to provide an overview of taxation, offsite levy and other development subsidies could be provides. City staff were asked to return a report and potential options to council’s May 9 meeting. 7
