Redcliff native Joey Kirchner consistently shared his pride for Alberta throughout the first season of Bachelor in Paradise Canada, the most notable instance of which being when he first arrived wearing only a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and a speedo - a style he will rock once again in the show's upcoming season.--SUBMITTED PHOTO
Redcliff native Joey Kirchner is continuing his search for love on the second season of Bachelor in Paradise Canada, which premieres May 8 on CityTV.
Kirchner made his national television debut in 2021 on the show’s first season, in which 26 singles gathered on a Canadian beach to explore new relationships in the hopes of finding lasting love.
While Kirchner did leave paradise coupled with fellow contestant Véronique “Vay” Paquette, the relationship didn’t last, as revealed in the season one After the Final Rose special.
Despite the relationship not lasting, Kirchner earned the hearts of viewers across Canada with his perfectly-timed humour, forthright commentary and loving gestures of affection; and he was quickly dubbed a fan-favourite.
Following the first season, Kirchner told the News he had no plans to join any future seasons, despite having been urged by fans to do so. However, thanks to the support of fans, as well as that of his family and friends, Kirchner ultimately decided to return to the show and continue his search for ‘The One.’
Kirchner will be joined by a cast of singles from across Canada and the U.S., including Calgarian Céline Paquette, a first-time Bachelor contestant.
