Beet contract

Sugar beet growers have a new contract with Rogers Sugar for 2023 and 2024 crops, the company announced on Monday.

More than 200 producer members of the Alberta Sugar Beet Growers Association supply the Lantic sugar plant in Bow Island each year.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with the Alberta Sugar Beet Growers for another two years. This agreement not only guarantees our clients ongoing security of supply, but provides both stakeholders with a balanced, positive investment relationship and ensures a favourable environment for the sugar beet industry,” stated Mike Walton, president and CEO of Lantic Inc., and Rogers Sugar Inc. “This long-term partnership has proven to be mutually beneficial.”

No details of the contract were provided, nor was a statement from the ASGA.
