RCMP in Brooks say Tryggvi Jorgen Williamson, 30, was arrested April 5 in an attic of a rural home when authorities followed him after receiving a report of an assault at a rural intersection. Williamson was charged with seven offences, including assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and uttering threats. He was remanded in custody following a bail hearing, and on Wednesday, prosecutors said his bail on existing matters should be rescinded. Defence attorney Vince Guinan took no position on the Crown’s application, and agreed to adjourn the case for one week, noting Williamson will have the ability to apply for bail in the future, but in a reverse onus position, as is standard. Williamson also faces charges laid last autumn of minor mischief, break and enter at a commercial property, theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property. Earlier this year, he was charged with having a prohibited firearm in a vehicle. 8
