The Shaw Birdies for Kids program is helping make a difference locally by boosting donations made to several Medicine Hat charities. The program, presented by AltaLink, is matching donations to Medicine Hat’s Big Brothers Big Sisters, Be YOUth Centre, Ronald McDonald House, YMCA, Women’s Shelter Society and Adaptive Sport and Recreation to 50 per cent between now and August. “We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to participate in the Shaw Birdies for Kids program,” said Holly Stadnicki, executive director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Medicine Hat. “This support will help us to continue our work to positively impacting the lives of the youth in Medicine Hat and area through mentorships (and) in-school mental health and wellness education.” The program is also supporting Redcliff Youth Centre, alongside a host of other charities across Alberta. Donations can be made online at shawcharityclassic.com. 6
