More emergency department closures to endure at Milk River Health Centre

Milk River Health Centre’s emergency department will face several temporary closures next week due to a lack of physician coverage. The centre’s ED will be closed from noon Feb. 20 to 8 a.m. Feb. 21; from 5 p.m. Feb. 21 to 8 a.m. Feb 22; and from 8 a.m. Feb. 23 to 8 a.m. Feb. 24. Milk River and area residents in need of urgent medical care during the closures are recommended to call 911 for EMS assistance or seek care at the Raymond Health Centre (60 kilometres away) or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge (87 kilometres away). Residents are reminded that Alberta Health Services is hosting a community engagement session Feb. 22 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Milk River Civic Centre to discuss temporary closures affecting Milk River’s ED. 5-4
