25-year-old Calgary woman dies in collision on Trans-Canada near Cluny

A woman is dead after a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Cluny on Wednesday morning.

RCMP at Gleichen reported they were at the site of a substantial collision between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle at about 10 a.m. on Jan. 18.

That temporarily closed one eastbound lane on Highway 1 at Range Road 211.

Later in the day, a statement from the Mounties reported that a 25-year-old Calgary woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the lone occupant of the passenger vehicle.

The truck driver was uninjured.

Accident investigators were continuing work late Wednesday.

The collision remains under investigation.
