Taber teen pleads guilty to robbing corn stand

A teenager in Taber has pleaded guilty to robbing a corn stand with a weapon this fall, the Taber Times reports.

Provincial court in that town heard on Dec. 7 that the unnamed youth pulled out a replica air-soft pistol while approaching the roadside stand on Sept. 12 and demanded the cashbox from an employee. They then stuffed it in a backpack before fleeing to split up the undisclosed amount of cash with an accomplice who was acting as a lookout.

The youth was charged and pleaded guilty to robbery and wearing a disguise while commissioning a crime. Sentencing is to be scheduled before the end of February.
