Brooks RCMP find body of 94-year-old man last seen on the weekend

Mounties in Brooks report they have found the body of a 94-year-old man who was the subject of a search and public call for information.

The man had been last seen on Dec. 18, and police said Wednesday that they were concerned for his well being.

They released a photo and description of the man’s vehicle on in the morning, but reported in the afternoon that they had located his body.

No further information was released.

Cars recovered

Two people are in custody after RCMP officers in Brooks allege they recovered two vehicles stolen in Taber at a residence in the Uplands area of Brooks, along with property allegedly taken from storage lockers.

The city’s detachment announced Wednesday that a search warrant of a business located on 15th Ave. W, turned up the property valued at $20,000.

“The investigation is continuing, and we anticipate more charges being laid on this file,” stated Const. Aaron Lagace in a release.

Travis Seitz, 31, of Brooks, faces charges of motor vehicle theft, break and enter and fleeing from police.

Brooke Mintz, 28, of Brooks, is charged with possessing stolen property valued above $5,000.

Both were remanded in custody. Seitz is to next appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Jan. 4, 2023.
