The Medicine Hat Police Service is asking for public assistance in an investigation involving an incident at Walmart.

On Nov. 23 around 6:30 p.m., members of the MHPS responded to an incident at the Walmart Supercentre located on Strachan Road. Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the male who they say is believed to be driving a mid 2000s dark-coloured Ford Escape.

Anyone with information that could identify the male is asked to contact MHPS at 403-529-8481 or through their mobile app.

Stolen property recovered

A 39-year-old male from Bow Island was arrested and charged in connection to possession of stolen property by members of the MHPS who were patrolling the Southwest Industrial Area on the weekend.

Early Saturday police say the male was observed attempting to hitch a truck to a flatbed trailer, and upon further investigation it was revealed they had outstanding warrants for their arrest and were in possession of a stolen 2012 Ford F350.

The Bow Island man was taken into custody and held for a judicial interim hearing where he faces numerous charges including possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000, several counts of possession of credit card data and of breach of release orders.
