MHWSS expands text/web help to 24-7

Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society is ensuring individuals experiencing family violence can access help around the clock with expansion of its existing text line and web chat support services to now be available 24/7.

“Family violence is not an eight to five kind of thing,” MHWSS executive director Natasha Carvalho told the News. “So, we just really need these services to be available all the time (so) people can have access and be able to have somebody to talk to you, whether it’s by phone or text or chat.”
