Male in custody after ‘heavy police presence’ on TCH near Gleichen

A portion of the Trans-Canada Highway near Gleichen was closed late Sunday evening as RCMP reported to an “incident,” of which no details were reported except a “heavy police presence” was required and there was no risk to public safety.

The highway reopened early Monday morning, at which time RCMP confirmed they had taken an adult male into custody and charges are pending. No further information was provided at the time.
