Hatter among top percentile of Hyundai Canada’s service advisors

Hatter Kim Stuber says she is still in disbelief after being recognized one of Hyundai Canada’s top 27 service advisors during the company’s League of Customer Experience Excellence gala; but those who know her say the well-deserved accomplishment comes as no surprise.

A part of Murray Hyundai’s service department for the past nine years, Stuber prides herself on providing customers quality service – something she says starts with respect, trust and genuine care.

“My favorite thing is making customers happy,” Stuber told the News. “It makes it worth getting up in the morning and coming to work. (And) I’ve got such a great relationship with them, that a lot of the customers aren’t customers anymore. I know them beyond their vehicle (so) it’s more along the lines of the personal connection that I have with them.”

Customers obviously appreciate Stuber’s approach, as customer feedback was used to determine her placement in the top percentile of Hyundai Canada’s service advisors.

“We have what’s called a Customer Satisfaction Index, which is a survey that customers send in to Hyundai after every time they do business with us in the service department,” Murray Hyundai general manager Michael Papps said. “The top (service advisors) end up going to the gala.”

Papps says he is proud of Stuber – the first Medicine Hat service advisor to earn the distinction – but not surprised given her day-to-day performance at the dealership.

“Selling cars is fairly straightforward,” said Papps. “But it’s the service behind it that keeps people coming back. To get a repeat customer, you need to have really good service. And that’s where Kim comes into play. Kim really has that frontline connection with the customers (and) she cares incredibly, not only for her customers, but for the dealership’s customers.”

Stuber thanked Papps and the rest of the Murray Hyundai team for their support prior to attending the Oct. 1 gala, held in Vancouver. She also shared a special thank-you with her customers for recognizing all she does.
