Though Christmas is still a few months away, Santa Claus will be making a brief appearance in Medicine Hat next weekend during the annual Santa Claus Fund Toy Run on Saturday.
Now in it’s 36th year, the toy run brings motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region together with community members for a day-long fundraising celebration.
The event begins at the Irvine Hotel at 9 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, then at 11:30 a.m. riders depart for Medicine Hat.
Upon arrival, riders will follow Dunmore Road to the Stampede grounds, where they will present donations to Santa. Afterward, they will join community members to enjoy a $5 charity barbecue lunch, beer gardens, live music, raffles and a 50/50 draw.
While the family-friendly event is geared toward collection of new toys, books and games for youth ages 0-17, monetary donations are also appreciated.
All donations will be used to provide local families in need with gifts and a warm meal at Christmas through the Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund
