Police have charged a man after $106,000 worth of drugs, including a large quantity of cocaine, were seized during a search of a southside hotel room.
Police say that on Aug. 11, Medicine Hat Police officers and members of the Medicine Hat ALERT organized crime unit executed the search as part of an investigation into drug dealing in the region.
They say that 423 grams of cocaine, 242 grams of fentanyl and 252 grams of methamphetamine were recovered.
Matthew David Hillier, 37, is charged with three counts of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possessing stolen property, obstructing a police officer and failing to comply with release conditions.
He was scheduled to appear in docket court at Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Thursday morning.
