https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews A fatal head-on collision on Highway 41 on Sunday closed the road for about 12 hours while crews cleaned up a rolled-over semi-trailer filled with flammable liquid, the Redcliff RCMP detachment said on Monday. Mounties, Cypress County fire and ambulance crews attended the scene at about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday to find a northbound tractor trailer and a southbound passenger vehicle had collided near Range road 23 near Schuler. The truck continued into the ditch and rolled. A 34-year-old man from Saskatchewan was pronounced dead at the scene and his companion in the passenger vehicle, a 30-year-old woman, was taken by HALO air rescue to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Her condition is unknown. The 49-year-old truck driver suffered minor injuries. Cypress County fire officials said they were clear of the scene at about 9 p.m., thereby reopening the highway in both directions after it had been detoured as crews drained the tank on the hauler. The RCMP is still investigating the accident. 7
