Eastern Irrigation District water shut-off is Oct. 7

This season’s water shut-off will be Oct. 7 for the Eastern Irrigation District and Oct. 8 for the St. Mary’s River Irrigation District. Water operators are encouraging everyone to make sure all their water needs are met before the shut-off date. Anyone within the EID is asked to notify the district via phone or text at least 24 hours in advance of the intended shut-down time. A spokesperson from EID confirmed that with river water and August rainfall, the district was able to meet all demands, despite this season’s drought and subsequent high water usage. “Our reservoirs are where we want them to be going into winter,” he told the News. 4-3
