An alleged drunk driver in Brooks is facing a slew of traffic charges after Mounties in that city say they apprehended the man for driving the wrong way down the Trans-Canada Highway. Authorities say they received a call at 2 a.m. on Sunday that a truck east of town was heading west in the eastbound lanes. Police say the 45-year-old male driver refused to identify himself or submit to a blood-alcohol test. Eventually, they discovered the man had a suspended licence and say he was intoxicated with an open liquor container in the vehicle. The man faces charges of dangerous driving, impaired driving, obstructing a police officer and driving with a suspended licence. He is due in court to answer to the charges on July 16. 5
