Alberta Health says more detail on vaccine progress coming online

By Medicine Hat News on March 5, 2021.

Detailed information about progress has been limited since Alberta launched its COVID-19 vaccination program in December, but Alberta Health says this will change.

Alberta Health’s website is updated daily with the total number of doses administered in the province, how many doses that equates to per 100,000 of the population, how many people have already had two doses and the number of adverse events reported from those who have been vaccinated.

As soon as the vaccine was being administered across the province Albertans were eager to know how many people in each zone had been vaccinated and even numbers per category, such as those in long-term care, health workers, staff in seniors homes, etc.

“Work is underway to update the website with more details on the vaccine rollout by zone. We should have that information available online in the coming days,” said a spokesperson for Alberta Health this week.

The spokesperson also revealed that earlier this week the South zone has administered 21,406 doses, but this information is not posted online.

For Saskatchewan, there is a detailed website with 13 zones listed on a chart showing daily updates of first doses, second doses and the total administered. At the bottom of the chart are the totals for the entire province.
