The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer will be virtual this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the two-day, 200 km, 12th annual event that takes place through southern Alberta is postponed until 2021, with a virtual event taking its place this year. The Alberta Cancer Foundation is holding a special virtual rally on Aug. 29. If cycling isn’t a passion, participants can also walk, run, hike or complete an activity of their choosing. There’s no registration fee and no minimum distance or minimum fundraising amount required. The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer is Canada’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event, and since 2009, the Alberta Ride has raised more than $80 million to support locally-based cancer research, treatment and care. Funds raised from this year’s event will go to research, clinical trials and enhanced patient care programs.
