Paving on Gershaw Drive and a main route in Crescent Heights will take place next week, the city’s municipal works department has announced.

Replacing the top lift of asphalt will proceed on three blocks of Gershaw Drive and adjacent portion of Seventh Street SW will take place from Aug. 18-20.

In the north end, crews will repave 20th Street from 16th Street to 11th Avenue (connecting Parkview Drive to Crescent Heights) beginning Monday. Schedules are weather dependent.

Park project

Irrigation upgrades will commence in Gilwell Park this week, thereby closing potions of the linear park that connects Leinweber Park to Southview Drive until 2021.

Plans also involve reseeding the area with more hardy native grasses that require less maintenance. Allowing that to establish will prevent public access through the fall, a release from the parks department states.
