Invest Medicine Hat has launched a residential infill incentive program to encourage redevelopment and reconstruction of infill properties.

The city says it will benefit established neighbourhoods and provide economic stimulus as part of the city’s COVID-19 response.

The program is comprised of five separate grants:

– Land-use bylaw amendment application fee grant;

– New construction residential densification and renewal grant;

– Hazardous materials survey and abatement grant;

– Professional design services grant;

– Eligibility for a utility infrastructure upgrade grant.

Jason Melhoff, managing director of Invest Medicine Hat, says the goal is to enhance and benefit established neighbourhoods and provide economic stimulus for the local trades industry.

The application process began Aug. 4 and will continue until Dec. 31.

Additional details are available on the city’s website or contact Invest Medicine Hat directly at 403-529-8148.
