As work continues to replace water and sewer infrastructure on Seventh Street SE – between Kingsway Avenue and S. Railway Street – the closure of an affected intersection has been delayed.
The intersection of Seventh Street SE and Kingsway Avenue will now be closed starting Aug. 5.
The city says the contractor is working to minimize the length of the closure but it could take until Aug. 27 depending on weather and other unforeseen delays.
The work on Seventh Street is occurring in phases to facilitate access to local businesses.
Under Exception 19 (g) of the Noise Bylaw No. 4353, work will sometimes continue through the night to avoid additional impact on businesses and the need to shut down the water supply during construction.
