cgallant@medicinehatnews.com@CollinGallant The lake at Echo Dale Regional Park will be opened for public swimming on Friday with more city recreation facilities and restrictions at the Gas City campground expected to be lifted early next week, the city has announced. The swimming lake and change rooms at the park west of Medicine Hat will reopen to the public at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, though the concession will remained closed for the season and portable toilets will be provided as patrons are asked to maintain physical distancing and good personal hygiene to prevent the possible spread of the coronavirus. The parks department also announced that as of Friday the capacity of the Gas City campground will rise to 100 per cent, up from the 50 per cent level in place since the delayed opening of the municipal campground on June 1. As well, the gymnasium at the Family Leisure Centre will open for use on Monday for registered bookings. That facility has reopened in stages on a week-by-week basis through the month. The final stage, the field house, is slated to reopen on July 27. 7
