Saskatchewan moving ahead with relaunch plan

Saskatchewan health officials are releasing guidelines to stage rodeos, banquets and trade shows as well as operate food trucks, as as its latest stage of a reopen plan moves forward.

The Saskatchewan Health authority also stated on Friday that it will allow begin public seating areas at Drive-ins, and farmers and public markets to be open.

Live performances will be allowed in restaurants and licensed establishments on July 16 as part of a second stage of “Phase 4” of the province’s plan to ease restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

Montana cases on rise

Five more residents of Hill County, Mont. have tested positive for the coronavirus, state health officials reported on Friday, bringing the total of new cases in the area this week to 12.

That area surrounding the town of Havre, south of Cypress County, Alta., reported its first new case of COVID-19 in months in early July.

Contract tracing has revealed 11 more. Friday’s additions involved three children younger than 10, a woman in her 20s and man in his 60s.

Statewide, 127 cases were added – a daily record – including 54 in Billings area and 39 in Gallatin County, near Idaho. The total number of positive tests now sits at 1,593, with 710 active cases.

The governor’s office is ordering testing in assisted living facilities statewide after five deaths in a Billings area home this week.
