HMHC announces ways it can continue classes for fall semester

By Medicine Hat News on May 28, 2020.

Medicine Hat College announced the measures it’s taking this fall semester in order to continue holding classes while keeping everyone involved safe.

Online learning plus staggered attendance will allow improved physical distancing, though specific details have yet to be revealed.

“Combining different delivery methods means students enrolled in a program with a higher level of lab components that require face-to-face learning can safely have them,” said vice-president academic and provost Dr. Vicky Roy in a press release Wednesday. “Some other programs would be mainly taught by distance. Our faculty are now making recommendations on course offerings that reflect this approach.”

The college was closed in March due to the pandemic, forcing many courses to finish online.

Details as to how each course will be run are expected by the end of June according to the release.
