Medicine Hat News Medicine Hat Police Service is investigating a shooting in the SW Hill area that took place around 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning. An investigation determined that an unidentified person wearing what appeared to be all black clothing approached a residence on the 200 block of 4 Street SW and fired several shots into the house before fleeing on foot. No one in the residence was physically injured, according to an MHPS release. The release goes on to state that a K-9 unit was deployed but did not locate an offender. “While it is early in the investigation, it is believed that the residence was specifically targeted, and as such at this time there is no general public safety risk,” the release states. The MHPS Major Crime Section is continuing the investigation and looking to follow up with a male witness who previously spoke to an officer on-scene.
